Fearing the creature may acting upon it's vicious nature but there were no death reported of livestock or persons so the wolf hasn't killed but that didn't stop their paranoia. In a wasteful attempts traps were set to catch it became illusive to all their snare. so no other choice they looked for aid through a professional.
Ian Strongwell, known to be living off grid surviving the wilderness by living off of what the land provides. his skills as a hunter is famous and often does bushiness to trades with the people of Wood Song either stocking up on goods while sell his own goods. So Ian and the people of Wood Song's have a good relationship so his skill were called to serve a need. But his kills are only for the purpose to eat or protect himself if to kill. This would be a first killing an animal who is only inadvertently spooking. But Ian felt an obligation since this town has been very good to him.
On the start of the hunt Ian looked and followed the signs that the strange beast and where it last lurked. And brought the hunter to spend many days & nights tracking the animal down, but he came far from close. This is no ordinary beast of the woods, and conclude that this hunt is a challenge dealing with a clever creature. But it didn't matter to the hunter and felt more determined and so he hunt throughout the day and night, for 2 whole days without rest. Till he found a good lead finally. But fatigue could no longer be ignored so the hunter finally rest on a night even if he'd had to camping out in the cold and losing ground in the hunt. Ian knew he and the beast would cross one another path but how. In this night he'd never had thought it would happen in a unusual way.
