Triton paced at the edge of his territory, hoping to catch a whiff of her scent. The wolf was a massive one, his fur a deep, dark shade of brown, though there were bits of black and gold mixed in. His eyes gleamed with hints of intelligence, and though he usually remained silent, he could speak as a human could.
For the past few weeks, a female human had been coming into his territory-perhaps she had been coming there since before he even marked it as his own. He had stayed in hiding while watching her-she always came alone, always. Occassionally, he'd let her catch the briefest glimpse of his form, though he'd never revealed himself to her fully. But the girl seemed to make him ache with desire, and he'd decided he wanted the human for his own.
The wind shifted, and he smiled. She was coming.
